My tips & tricks for keeping your AG looking and feeling fab

Imma give you my tips and tricks for your AG and eighteen inch dolls. I have been collecting eighteen inch dolls for four years on December 24 will be my fifth year and I watch and do a lot of research on how to take care of your dolls. I can't give my self all the credit because almost all like 99.99% of these tips and tricks are from YouTube and other sources. And if your doll is in bad shape some of these tips and tricks may help. Tip #1 When you get a new doll DONT WASH HER HAIR unless you get it used from Amazon or eBay or other websites that sells used dolls. Tip #2 Don't put any heat to ur dolls hair because over time it will damage your dolls hair. Tip #3 Don't leave braids, ponytails, buns or any hairstyle in for more than 24hours or a long period of time. Trust me I know how hard and difficult it is to not break that rule believe me I usually don't get too fancy unless it's a birthday, holiday or if I'm bored or have extra time I love to do creative hairstyles but I always forget or I don't have time to take the hairdo out. When you leave braids and cute hairstyles in your dolls will get dents in the hair my doll Jazmine has dents so this is what it looks like:
Her hair was curly but that's another story but she has a wave in her hair. And to me I don't really care if my dolls get dents because if you work with the hair it will go away unfourtantly poor Jazmine just need to get another wig. Tip#4 Only use a wire brush and don't put the wire brush in your hair I'm not going to get into the reason but you can find why on YouTube. Tip #5 If your doll has frizzy hair mist lightly with water and when you wet the hair don't get it too damp ever because it'll smell over time if you get it too damp. Tip #6 Don't let anything get into your dolls eyes especially water because water will make your dolls eyes rust and you don't want anything to happen to her beautiful pretty eyes right? Tip#7 When you have dolls for a long time and you play with them a lot they will get dirty and when my dolls get dirty their skin get black like this
My twin Kenonya has a black spot on her leg so for me that's a sign that she needs a good wash with the magic eraser. So that you don't damage your doll you can do the baking soda and water that American girl recommends but if you don't have time for that and you want to do a quick second wash up then you can use a magic eraser and I love magic erasers to clean my dolls because I don't have the time nor the patience to mix baking soda and water then find a rag to use. Magic erasers don't do any damage to your doll but I wouldn't recommend washing everyday. I would wash every couple of weeks or months or when you think your doll needs some sprucing up. And if you travel places you can pack a magic eraser to keep her super germ free. Tip #8 Don't paint your dolls nails I know another rule that is easily broken but if you paint your dolls nails get non actiontone nail polish remover to remove the nail polish and when you go to remove don't do it weekly because your doll still can get discoloration. Tip #9 Use water only on your dolls hair.Tip # 10 Mist lightly don't drench with water. Tip #11 Keep your doll boxes because you can use them to make beds, computers, phones and much more and doll boxes are super good for storage. Tip #12 Don't put your doll in direct sunlight and keep away from fiery things like candles, fire places, heaters and such because they will melt. Tip #13 Keep little tiny miniature stuff for your dolls like containers. A tip for curling hair leave in for four weeks. Tip #14 Don't mess up your dolls part but we all know that's going to happen. My last tip is love on your dolls, care for them, have lots of fun and enjoy every second with your doll and every once in a while pamper your doll a few weeks ago I actually gave my dolls a spa day!
My dolls had lots of fun sadly not all my dolls wanted to get facials,manicures/pedicures and their hair done but that's okay because Ido different things to pamper different dolls because not all my dolls are girly girls. Obviously you don't have to give you doll a spa day their is different things you can do but one of my favorites is giving my dolls a spa day I also like to take them on shopping sprees even though I take my dolls everywhere I go but still it's nice to have your doll with you even when you are just going to run a quick errand. Now these are some of my hair care tips and tricks #1 Brush your AG or eighteen inch dolls hair every time you style it,or at least once a week. Use short gentle strokes, starting with the ends. When the ends are tangle free, then brush the next section.Work in small sections until you reach the roots. #2 Use baby shampoo if you must wash your dolls hair.Use only a tiny bit & rinse gently. After washing, brush the hair out very thoroughly, starting from the ends working ur way up. #3 Run a towel gently down the hair in one direction to soak any excess water.Let hair air dry.AG dolls are plastic &I may melt or become frizzy if you want to blow dry. Styling:
Step 1- Use a spray bottle wit water to dampen hair if necessary for styling. Step2- Secure ponytails or braids wit covered hair elastic so ready plastic Barrett's.Regular rubber bands or metal Barrett's snags & breaks hair. Step3- Curl your ag's hair with damp sponge rollers or the curlers that you can buy at the AG company.
Tips &Warigs
Curling irons or hot rollers will melt ur dolls hair.Dont use hair spray; it will make the hair sticky &tangled. These are my tips and tricks for eighteen inch dolls I hope my tips and tricks help you.
